Filmed in Santa Barbara, a college student regrets the lack of ceremony in modern society. He brings his friends to his family's property to recreate an ancient Chumash Indian ceremony. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned.

Description:
Anthropology student Nathan (Ryan Donowho) loves Dani (Kate Maberly), a troubled coed who has turned her back on her Chumash Indian heritage. One weekend, he invites is best friend Hart (Travis Van Winkle), some of his classmates, and Professor Nash (Stephen Dorff) to his family's abandoned ranch – once a sacred Chumash burial ground – to recreate an ancient ceremony.

Nathan’s older brother Benny (Wes Bentley), a bumbling loser who just
wants to abduct a nice girl, drink hallucinogenic Jimsonweed Tea,
stage a wedding-suicide, and take his bride to Chumash heaven is one
of two dangerous oddballs who live there in isolation. The other is
Delgado (Christian Slater), a lost soul whose wife and son were killed
by a drunk driver. He is now a quirky meth cooker who talks smack to
the imaginary sock monkey - riding shotgun on his shotgun. His maniacal
mission in life is to find and kill the coed who caused the accident.

Benny and Delgado do not react well to the uninvited guests who
unexpectedly appear at the ranch for the weekend.
